flûte

usually wider and shorter than a baguette

Du pain

In many parts of France a flute is like a wider, less crispy baguette and can be ordinaire or campagne or tradition (which usually means sourdough). In some places it’s just known as a plain old pain. It should by law weigh 400g (14oz).

But in some regions a flute can be more like a ficelle! Ooof!
