Wheat sheaves near King's Somborne The sheaves are put together into a stook.

A gerbe is a sheaf of wheat or corn, often depicted on heraldry, or on a wreath of funeral flowers. Gerber means to vomit, which has made it a challenge to market the American Gerber baby food in France.
