Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) cultivated in Saint-Avit, Tarn, France

Fields of sunflowers are one of the best-loved images of the south of France. Most of the seeds are turned into cooking oil, huile de tournesol, but you can also buy graines de tournesol décortiquées (husked sunflower seeds), salées (salted) or nature (plain).
