Muscat du Ventoux

black table grapes from Provence

Raisin muscat

Sweeet black AOP Muscat du Ventoux grapes are grown in the micro region of hills between Mont-Ventoux and Avignon at an altitude of over 200m, benefiting from exceptional sunshine—over 300 days a year—and sheltered from the worst of the mistral winds.

They are picked in late August by hand with scissors, cutting away any bad grapes at the same time. They are so important to the local economy that they even have their own monument.
