faluche

dense white bread

Faluche bread.

Butter brings an added density to this bread shaped like a deflated football from Nord-Pas de Calais. It’s often sliced up for breakfast and spread with butter and brown sugar.

It also looks like the faluche—a scholar’s cap still worn today.
