moscharí

μοσχαρί

veal

Moscharí is veal, although in Greece it's rarely the pale milk-fed only kind of veal as in Italy or France. On Corfu they make it into a garlicky sofrito

μοσχαρίσια ('of veal', ie γλώσσα μοσχαρίσια tongue of veal)

Μοσχάρι λεμονάτο: lemony veal (or beef) stew is one of the most popular recipes, made with chunks of stewing veal with onions, potatoes, garlic, white wine, olive oil and lemon juice.
