Fig. They grow everywhere in Greece, and they go into preserves, jam, spoon sweets, tarts and soúma and tyrozouli. Fresh ones roasted with feta are delicious.

Sun dried figs (ξερά συκά) go into a number of dishes as well, including the unusual skyomalda.

The best dried figs are Ξερά σύκα Κύμης (Xerá sýka Kýmis) made from big juicy white PDO Traganika figs grown around Kými on Évia, which have few pests and are nearly always organic.
