firíki

φιρίκι

Little aromatic 'Centaurs' apples' from the Pelion peninsula, also known as φιρίκι-πηλίου (Firiki Piliou) are PDO (ΠΟΠ). They grow on trees that take 15 years to bear fruit, and then only do so every two years, turning red on the side kissed by the sun. They are often made into spoon sweets.
