Kefalonian meat pie

Meat pie. There are variations all across Greece but the most famous version is from Kefalonia, the Κεφαλονίτικη κρεατόπιτα (Kefalonitiki kreatopita) made with veal, pork, lamb or kid, tomato sauce, rice and spice, then baked in a crust made with white wine.

In Epirus, many make a Πρωτοχρονιά κρεατόπιτα (Protochronia Kreatopita) or New Year's meat pie along with the traditional sweet vasilopita, made with shredded cooked lamb, onions, cinnamon, raisins, pinenuts and parsley baked in phyllo.
