karavidas

καραβίδας

European lobster, with claws, also called αστακοκαραβίδα (astakokaravida). Not as common in Greece as the spiny astakos and even more expensive. Usually simply served grilled and served with ladolemono.

Kαραβίδας can also mean Norwegian Lobster, or crayfish, which are endangered in the Mediterranean

Crayfish

ποτάμια καραβίδα (potamia karavida) are freshwater crayfish (Astacus astacus)
