karavídas

καραβίδας

Kαραβίδας is European lobster, with claws, which is also known as αστακοκαραβίδα (astakokaravida). It’s ot as common in Greece as the spiny astakos and even more expensive. Usually simply served grilled and served with ladolemono.

Kαραβίδας can also mean Norwegian Lobster, or crayfish, which are endangered in the Mediterranean, although they catch plenty around Skiáthos, they make καραβίδες με χόρτα (karaídas me chorta), crayfish stewed wth greens. Crayfish
