John Dory fish on fish market

John Dory. It's a tasty fish that often has a much holier name. Its scientific name is Zeus faber; in French it's Saint-Pierre (it is traditionally known as St Peter's fish, because it's marked with the saint's very own dark 'thumbprint.')

In Greek, the name goes one better: it literally means 'Christ fish'.
