Pontian Greek and Armenian rich sour yogurty drink similar to Turkish ayran, made from yogurt after the fat is removed and mixed with ice water and salt.

The fat goes into πασκιτάν (paskitan), a smooth thick savoury yogurt soft cheese; another by-products of making τάν is a pungent cheese called τσιορτάν.
