Anevató

Ανεβατό

A soft white cheese made from goat's milk from the Pindus mountains above Grevená in West Macedonia. Originally aged by shepherds in bags made from goat skin, it has a pleasant granular, spreadable texture. Sometimes spelled Ανιβατό or Νιβατό.

Designated ΠΟΠ (PDO) since 1994.
