Fryganiá are zweibeck (sweetened twice baked bread).

Toast or rusks or paximádia (also known as γαλέτα or galéta).

The English word 'toast' or τοστ in Greece means a toasted sandwich.

Τρίμμα φρυγανιά (trimméni fryganiá): or toasted breadcrumbs (φρυγανιές κοπανισμένες, fryganiés kopanisménes) are often dousesd in syrup to form a base for desserts.

fryganiá on Zákynthos

On Zákynthos the chilled dessert called fryganiá has a sweet crumb base, topped with a layer of vanilla or lemon scented cream, topped in turn by whipped cream and a glacé cherry or two.
