karpouzópita

Καρπουζόπιτα

karpouzopita

Watermelon pie.

What can’t Greeks make into a pie? This one is a summer treat on Mílos, made by draining chunks of watermelon (karpouzi) overnight, and putting them into a pastry made with flour, sugar and honey. It’s sprinkled with cinnamon and sesame seeds, then baked.
