Doughnuts from the island of Symi (often known as ακούμια Συμιακά, akoúmia symiaká), made with flour and boiled rice, ouzo and yeast, then fried and topped with sugar. They are ofteb served warm on special occasions, especially at the island’s famous pilgrimage site, Panormítis.
