pettine

scallops, or pasta

For the scallop, see canestrelli.

Pettine is also a pasta shape: delicate little fluted tubes folded over on themselves (made on an implement called a pettina, or comb). Better known as garganelli , a speciality of Emilia-Romagna, sometimes also called maccheroncini al pettine.
