diavola

devilishly hot and spicy

Any dish that's extra spicy or arrabbiata might be 'in the devil's style': the classic is spicy roast chicken, pollo alla diavola. Or it might be piccante: spicy hot (also used for sharp as in cheese) or pungente: spicy hot or pungent.

Diavola is also the name of a spicy sausage as a pizza topping, the closest perhaps to the American pepperoni.
