rosamarina

rice shaped pasta or a fishy sauce

The pasta is similar to orzo, but generally a bit narrower. Used in soups and salads.

In Calabria, however, rosamarina is also the spawn of the red mullet, cured with red peppers to make a spicy, salty condiment also called rosamarina or sardella.
