Chiocciole di mare, or sea snails, can be many different species of whelks, limpets, etc. Also known as bomboletti, maruzzelle, garusolo or lumachine di mare.

Chiocciole is the Tuscan word for lumache—snails (and also the Italian name for the @ sign).
