spigola

bass

The European sea bass, as it is known in central and southern Italy. Northerners call it branzino; it's sometimes called a luasso in Genoa, a varolo or vaiolato in the Romagna, or a 'sea wolf' lupo di mare, and Florentines know it as a 'spider', ragno. Very popular and extensively farmed.
