cacciatora

hunter's style

‘Hunter’s style’ in most cases means cooked with tomatoes, sage, garlic, rosemary and olive oil, and nearly always with mushrooms; chicken but also hare is prepared this way. In Tuscany, pasta prepared alla cacciatora has a sauce of meat and vegetables, with a hint of juniper. But it also can be any dish or side dish served with mushroom and herbs.
