Pucce are crispy, aromatic rolls or small round loaves, baked in a wood oven, sometimes with olives, tomato, capers, etc baked in. Often used for sandwiches filled with cheese, salami, grilled veg, meat and other sauce, not unlike a Greek gyros.
The ones from the Salento peninsula are called pizzi leccesi always have the tomatoes, onions and olives and somtimes capers baked in.
