Turiddu

spicy Sicilian pasta dish

Spaghetti, or ziti, or whatever pasta, alla Turiddu is a Sicilian version of puttanesca; no one recipe, but usually tomatoes, parsley, olives, pecorino, onions, and maybe hot peppers, or almonds, capers, basil, pine nuts and raisins, etc.

No one knows who or what Turiddu might be, but there's a character by that name in Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana.
