Atlantic horse mackerel


Also known as the European horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus), and common off the shores of Italy. A tasty summer fish that the Italians class among the pesce azzurro, and often fried or grilled, or prepared in a pasta sauce with olives, capers, tomatoes, zucchini and saffron. Also known as suherello.
