Slovenian style dumplings


You'll see a lot of these on menus in eastern Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Žlikrofi are a traditional dish from the Idrija region of Slovenia, made with egg pasta, filled with potatoes, bacon, onions and Montasio cheese, and usually topped with meat sauce flavoured with sage. Other names are slikrofi or even caramelle.
