Tommaso Rues
Also spelled Ruer
Tommaso Rues (1633-1703) was born in Brunico and the Tyrol and worked in Venice most of his life, where he died. He left his mostly workmanlike, and now heavily weather-worn Baroque statues and reliefs in Santa Maria della Salute, on the high altars of the Redentore and San Pantalon, and what may be his masterpiece (if it's really by him) San Marziale; he also sculpted many of the figures on the facade of Santa Maria del Giglio.
