Few desserts have the celebrity bling of this delicate brioche filled with a vanilla lemon cream and topped with sugar, invented in 1955 by Alexandre Micka, a Polish pastry chef in Saint-Tropez.
Micka was hired by Roger Vadim to cater for the cast of ...And God Created Woman, starring his soon to be famous wife, Brigitte Bardot who loved Micka’s dessert and gave it its name. Some home cooks put raspberries or strawberries on top.
To try the real McCoy (it was trademarked and a closely regarded secret) visit the shop.
