Bleuets are ‘true’ low bush blueberries (Vaccinium angustifolium) native to North America, related to the far more common and smaller myrtilles of Europe.
In the Vosges, American blueberries were introduced in the 1970s and are sold as Bleu Vert Vosges or bluet des Vosges. They are also called brimbelles, as in tarte aux brimbelles—French blueberry pie.
