Ragoût de bœuf et pommes de terre

Ragout comes from ragoûter or ‘redonner du goût’ or restore taste, and can be any stew with meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables and potatoes cooked in a sauce—not like a potée where the ingredients are cooked in a sauce rather than a broth.
