Bretzel alsacien

The same name for the salty snack you buy in the shop (bretzels secs) but in Alsace you can find the real McCoy, made from brioche dough, poached in water with bicarbonate of soda, tied in a knot (the word is derived from the low Latin for ‘arms’ (brachitella)) covered with salt, and then baked.
