Quernon d’ardoise

nougatine and blue chocolate ‘slate’

Quernons d’ardoise

Angers is famous for its blue slate (ardoise) roofs, inspiring local confiseur René Maillot at La Petite Marquise to create Quernons d’ardoise—almond and hazelnut nougatine squares completely covered in blue chocolate (white chocolate tinted blue grey with natural colouring).

They have become so popular that the shop has been renamed the Maison du Quernon and now makes an array of slate blue chocolate treats.
