meltíni

μελιτίνι

Sweet cheese tarts from Santoríni in a thin 'pinched' crust; the inside is made with anthotyros or myzíthra, with flour, eggs, vanilla or mastic.

They were traditionally made for Easter, but in spite of their name, there is no meli in the recipe, although they are 'as sweet as honey.'
