Argyrosomus regius. Croaker or meagre, a common Mediterranean fish, that earned its English name by the sound it makes. They are a big fish, measuring around 1.5 meters, while the largest can be 2.3 meters and exceed a weight of 100 kilograms.

Other Greek names are Μαγιάτικο (mayiátiko) and Σολομός (solomós)
