Barga’s Fish and Chips Festival

Every mid August Barga in Tuscany celebrates its Scottish connections with the Sagra del Pesce e Patate, put on by the local football club in their Stadio Johnny Moscardini, and named after the only Scottish-born footballer to play for Italy. Many of the Italians who imigrated to Scotland in the 20th century came from this area, and Barga is proud to call itself the ‘Most Scottish Town in Italy.’
