Giorgio Massari
Early Rococo and Neoclassical design
Giorgio Massari (1687–1766) was an architect who collaborated with Giambattista Tiepolo and once even with Vivaldi to produce some of Venice’s most delightful, acoustically excellent rococo buildings, notably the churches of La Pietà and the Gesuati.
He also designed the serene Neoclassical Palazzo Grassi, the last great palazzo on the Grand Canal, with rooms (unusually for Venice) built around a courtyard. He also completed the Ca' Rezzonico after the death of Longhena.
