Port Cable Car

Vertigo sufferers, abstain!

Port Cable Car

Officially known as the Transbordador Aeri del Port or Teleférico, this cable car linking Barceloneta to Montjuïc was built for the 1929 International Exhibition (but only finished in late 1931) and recently underwent a lengthy restoration. Each of the red cabins can hold 19 people, whisking them 230ft over the Port Vell.

If you don't buy a return ticket, have a drink at the panoramic café by the terminus on Montjuïc, or explore the adjacent Costa i Llobera Gardens. From here it's a 15-minute walk to both the Montjuïc Cable car and funicular down to the metro Paral.lel; another few minutes further along will bring you to the Fondació Miró.
